Choose an airfield linked to the bomber war
We offer visits to Hardwick, Old Buckenham, Parham, Shipdham, Tibenham or Thorpe Abbotts, each connected with a US Eighth Air Force group. In The Footsteps Tours, we use the selected site to introduce the bomber campaign and the crews who operated from Norfolk and Suffolk. Depending on the airfield, the visit may include a small museum, memorials, archives or optional flying experiences subject to arrangements and availability. Airfield access varies.
Connect local airfield history with national collections
The second day includes the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial, the Eagle pub in Cambridge and the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. In The Footsteps Tours, we help connect the stories of individual crews with wider collections and commemorative records. The tour begins at Norwich railway station and returns there after the visits, while accommodation can be arranged separately if required for the planned journey. Return point is Norwich station.
